In-School Fieldtrips

grade 6

Force. Motion. Energy.

e² Young Engineers helps Grade 6 students delve into engineering and science through engaging hands-on projects. They'll discover how forces influence object interactions and motion using gears and wheels. Additionally, they'll get to explore space technologies.

Forces:

pull back
race car

  • Students will learn how internal forces (i.e.tension) and external forces (i.e. friction) have an impact on objects.
  • Students will develop an understanding of how kinetic and potential energy are related in the context of elasticity.
Impact of Technology:

electric mixer

  • Your students will gain an insight into technology and its role in enhancing productivity and creativity in the kitchen.
  • Students will learn how using gears and a motor, you can create a transmission system that results in increased speed and makes the task of mixing quicker an more efficient.
Space Technology:

space rover

  • Students will engage in hands-on construction of a Space Rover, gaining insight into the connection of technology and space exploration.
  • Students will gain an understanding of the design of Rovers, and the challenges of exploring other planets.
