Young Engineers Edmonton is an enrichment program that uses LEGO® building blocks to introduce children to theories and practical aspects in the fields of STEM. Our programs include After-School classes, Summer camps, Birthday parties and many more! Children are given an opportunity to LEARN while having FUN, building with the world’s favorite building block – LEGO®! At e² Young Engineers®, we believe that parents need to expose children to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as a vital way to prepare them for a rapidly changing world. With their super skills, our young engineers can be the next generation of creators, innovators, and leaders who can revolutionize our world.
Young Engineers enrichment program employs edutainment, (education and entertainment) in our approach to teaching. We believe that it’s important to provide knowledge in math, science and technology to children from a very early age.
Young Engineers has developed a set of programs for students from pre-school to junior high school. These programs teach the subjects needed for a bright future.
Our enrichment programs and workshops are suited for students of different learning abilities. Our programs take on a unique way of teaching the core subjects. Our instructors engage the students by telling fascinating stories, performing cool experiments and class interaction.
Our participants learn real life mathematic principles, the laws of physics, as well as mechanical and software engineering. Our programs are successful as the students enjoy their time so much that they are unaware of how much they are learning.
We ensure that our learning is continuously relevant and effective, as we are constantly developing and improving our programs. Our kits are solely made for Young Engineers and that allows us to make exclusive models. We work hard on producing unique programs, which ensures are lessons are interactive and fun.
Our instructors teach the principles and terms of a given lesson on a basic level. We do this through simple demonstrations and stories. The next step of the spiral learning method is introducing these principles in new contexts and in greater depth and detail with each step.
Our Spiral Learning technique can be found in every single Young Engineers lesson, as well as in the curricula of each program. Beginning with basic building skills, engineering terms, sophisticated models, software programming, we continually working to advance these lessons and skills. Spiral Learning is in our core value system for how we educate. Each enrichment programs’ curriculum always builds upon the lessons of the one before.
Young Engineers has implemented two teaching techniques in creating our edutainment method: The Spiral Learning and the PBL methods.
PBL relates to three different learning methods Young Engineers utilizes in each of our programs
